Randy Emberlin is a comic book artist/inker who has spent the past 30 years working in a variety of creative fields. Whether as an illustrator of educational books or an animator on over 50 television commercials, he has made his presence felt through his style and sensibilities. Over the last 25 years Randy Emberlin is best known for his work as an inker on over 4000 pages of comic art, with a resume that includes long runs for Marvel on Amazing Spider-Man, Web of Spider-Man, GI Joe, Doctor Strange and Alien Legion, plus additional work on X-men, Avengers, Punisher, Silver Surfer, She Hulk, the Defenders, Quicksilver, Captain America and Conan. For Dark Horse he had runs on Ghost, Star Wars: Crimson Empire II, Aliens and Predator, plus the R.I.P.D.graphic novel from the movie! Randy has worked with a wide range of pencilers and has many distinctive styles that fans are well acquainted with. Randy's presentation of "The Dynamic Art of Comics" is given at numerous Northwest schools. JON J. MURAKAMI
A freelance cartoonist born and raised in Hawaii, is best known for his line of “Local Kine” greeting cards, and regular comic strips including “Calabash” with the Honolulu Star-Advertiser and “Generation Gap” with the Hawaii Herald.
Originally from Oahu, relocated to Las Vegas in 2010. He started a publishing company, Live Free Die Free (LFDF) Comics, to produce creator owned properties, including his own title, The contraptor. You can find it at Other Realms in Hawaii, and in Las Vegas at Celestial Comics, Cosmic Comics and Alternate Reality Comics.
Kipaku Kai is the brainchild of an adolescent Gabriel Peckham. While on a break from a vicious game of poker, Gabe asked Rusty Baily if he had ever thought of doing a daily comic strip. He said he was interested in hearing about some ideas, so Gabe described an idea for a comic he had in California, circa 1982, when he was just 12 years old.
DJ was born on Oahu, but moved to Hilo as a young child, graduating from Hilo High. He's been obssessed with drawing since he was five years old, to the point in getting into trouble for it. In the early 90's he fell in love with comics and was inspired by Jim Lee, Joe Madureira, and Marc Silvestri among others.
Former Marvel and DC Comics illustrator Andy Lee creates beautiful modern zen ink brush paintings with contemporary themes– everything ranging from superheroes to toasters to ray guns. Originally from Hawaii, Andy worked for many years before returning home to Hawaii in 2009 to raise a family; he currently teaches cartooning at Kaiser HIgh School and the Honolulu Museum of Art.
Mog Park is an up and coming traditional artist, from Academy of Art University in San Francisco, she found herself working shortly after with Tokyo Pop on a few projects. It eventually led to working on HBO’s Game of Throne series. Her latest, “Running with the Hare and Hunting with the Hound”, a hard cover by author Kimberlite8 published last year.
A well-respected veteran comic book artist inker with a wide range of experience in the industry, He currently holds the Inkwell Awards as the most adaptable inker from 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. Located in the San Francisco Bay Area, Walden has worked for practically every publisher out there, including Marvel, DC Comics, Image, Dark Horse, IDW, Valiant and VIZ Media to name a few.
